My work is all about bringing vibrancy and life to my art, with a particular focus on animals, florals, and portraits. I would describe my art as having an illustrative style.
I started creating with sketching then moved to acrylic painting, to watercolours and gouache, before finally discovering my true passion for acrylic inks and pen. I still occasionally incorporate watercolours, acrylics, and gouache into my work when a particular subject requires something slightly different. My artworks are usually smaller (A4 – A3), mainly on paper, then framed. I am passionate about using only premium quality materials to ensure an archival quality for longevity.
In 2013, I started my business, The Journey Studio, providing art
supplies to other artists in the Clare Valley, as well as sales of my artworks and commissions. I also started a weekly art group.
In 2017, I included Paint and Plonk events and workshops.
In addition to my business, I also enjoy volunteering my time to help plan and hang exhibitions at the Clare Valley Wine, Food & Tourism Centre, where I host my weekly art group.
I’ve had the pleasure of participating in numerous exhibitions, both solo and group shows, in a variety of locations across the Clare Valley and Adelaide. Since 2015 I have been involved in at least one SALA exhibition each year and the Clare Valley Portrait Prize since it started in 2018.
