At the Clare Valley Portrait Prize, held annually at the Clare Valley Wine, Food & Tourism Centre, I was fortunate enough to receive the Incentive Prize for my portrait of Elizabeth Haywood, author of ‘The Dressmaker’s Companion’ and ‘Zero Waste Sewing’.
I chose to paint Liz as she is not only a very interesting person but she has a great smile and I liked the challenge of painting her with her trusty Singer sewing machine as well as some different fabrics.
